Evidence-Based Program

Recovery is

Although Ethos Recovery is not a clinical program, we strive to support our clients and outside providers with third-party, evidence-based outcomes. To measure outcomes, we utilize the OQ45.2 & PHQ-9 which provides a quick and comprehensive snapshot of the client’s current functioning across a wide variety of disorders. This is sensitive to change over short periods of time, making it useful for evaluating client progress at any point during their recovery through the process. Given the long-term nature of the Ethos program, we can get a look at how individuals are progressing through the process. For more information, please check out the Ethos outcomes report.

House Structure

All residents receive an assessment prior to entry into our Los Angeles Sober Living residence. Daily structure includes house dinner meetings, abstience/12-step based community in recovery, on-site house managers/mentors, an individualized program from community members, daily AA/NA/CA meeting attendance, weekly unity meeting, and regular random drug testing.  Our program also includes weekly family updates, sponsorship recommendations, and court advocacy.

We offer a comfortable, newly built (2015) Spanish-style residence located in West Los Angeles, which features all meals and memory foam mattresses for our residents. Our accommodations include wireless internet and HDTV, laundry facilities, full gym, cold plunge, and an in-house computer that residents can utilize for job search and school use. We also provide bedding, towels, and housewares to ensure our residents have a comfortable stay while in our residence.

Ethos Recovery is a highly structured sober living community that recognizes the essential components needed to maintain a healthy and sober lifestyle. We value the principles of open-mindedness, honesty, and accountability and strive to foster a family-like environment that encourages camaraderie, self-empowerment, and personal development through peer feedback and community support. Our team is composed of members of the recovery community who possess firsthand experience with the challenges of new-found sobriety and the ongoing effort required to achieve long-term recovery. Our entire staff is dedicated to living and breathing the values of recovery, aiming to provide a sober and supportive environment for both our house members and alumni.

At Ethos Recovery, we understand the importance of a comprehensive approach to each individual path in recovery. To support long-term recovery goals, we can refer you or your family member to a variety of services and resources, including interventions, life skills coaching, residential treatment options, individual and family therapists, fitness and holistic professionals, physician and psychiatric providers, wilderness programs, and educational counseling.

We rely on effective communication with our network of referral partners and the families of those struggling with addiction. Our network is built on years of experience working with hundreds of people and their families in recovery. By maintaining close relationships with these professionals, we can ensure that our clients receive the most appropriate and effective care for their individual needs. Our commitment to providing these resources sets us apart from lone providers and consultants and helps our clients achieve lasting recovery.

What People Are Saying About Ethos

I came into ethos hopeless, with no idea what a future for myself looked like. Or if I even wanted a future for myself. I was in and out of institutions, on probation in 2 states and a high school drop out. Since going through this process I have gained insight on who I thought I was or wanted to be. I got my GED and enrolled in college. I have gained a totally new perspective on life and how I feel about myself. This has been the most quality time of my entire life in terms of drive, goals, and ambition. I’m confident and can keep my head held high knowing I’ve worked hard for a life I wouldn’t give up for anything. I met a community of brothers I can be vulnerable with and lean on. Because of this house, I show up every day and try to be the best person I can be, work hard, and be a real friend to others. This place changed my life.

I came into ethos at 19 with multiple probation violations, little to no direction, or much hope for a different kind of future. I had bounced in and out from other programs and was not sure why this time would be different. When I walked through the doors I found a community of guys who cared about me and encouraged me into a positive direction. I developed character, work ethic, and self esteem from the direction of this house and the community here. This program not only helped me to get sober but also to become a person I can be proud of. I am truly grateful for the life this process has helped me to create.

Throughout my life I’ve been in and out of programs, Easily fall back into old behaviors and end up back in treatment. I found Ethos through referrals and seeing guys go through the program. This program really presses upon the baseline principles of life and prepares you with coping skills to handle stress. The biggest part of the house is the brotherhood you gain, the feeling apart of, and the support from members who have graduated. Being in this process I’ve been fortunate enough to witness people who have come in lazy and apathetic with not a care in the world and begin going to school, start working and motivated for life. Through this process, I have gained perspective and structure in my life which has propelled me forward. I’ve slowly started to gain self-worth and self-confidence in day to day life. And I’m grateful for this opportunity to get my life back.

I am a recent graduate of this program and am really grateful for what the process here has given me. I have spent years in other programs and struggling with addiction. The people and program here have helped build a solid foundation for moving forward with my life and having a positive direction. The support, individual attention and care provided me with everything I needed and more to change the trajectory with my life. I can’t say enough about Ethos and what it has done for me.

I am a recent graduate of the Ethos program and I couldn’t say enough good things about the program and the managers running it. I’ve been in and out of recovery since I was 14 and have never been able to get and stay sober until I went through the house. Chris and the staff really take the time to get into you and break down your walls and your ego and tell you how it is. I don’t believe I would have a chance of staying sober without the discipline and structure of the house. I had zero life skills and no confidence in my ability to live life as a sober adult whatsoever. I’m extremely grateful for the house and would highly recommend the Ethos program for anyone that is interested.

Ethos House is an incredible place where Chris and the rest of the staff actually really care about the clientele. In all of the treatment centers and sober livings that I have been to, Ethos was the only one that worked for me in terms supplying me with the foundation and tools to lead a successful life. Ethos taught me many valuable skills and life lessons, but most importantly, it taught how to be a high functioning adult that no longer needed to resort to drugs and alcohol to cope with my problems. Ethos is in a class of its own when it comes to working with broken people and showing them a new way of life. I am eternally grateful for this process, and what it has done for me, for my family, and my friends that I have went through the house with.
